Well, today I woke up feeling exceptionally well. I even sent out the family text alerting everyone that there was NOT going to be a Ninja sighting........I just felt too good. I was having some pressure waves in the morning. They were a little different than the ones I've been having, but I've been having constant pressure waves for like 4 days now, so I didn't think much of it.

Around 730, I went to the bathroom and found that I was losing my mucus plug. It was the absolute grosses thing ever, but I was so excited. I was so excited, in fact, that I called and told everyone! ha ha I looked up online if that meant Ninja might come, but it just said it means your birthing time could start anytime within the next 2-3 weeks. Nice.

I begin having pressure waves right after losing my mucus plug. I gave them about an hour and then called Grammy and Auntie J. They loaded the car and on the way they came! I am so lucky to have my "birthing team" every time. They just drop ever thing and come!

We planned on going to Costco and doing some shopping during the day so that I could keep walking and moving. We also knew that if I showed up to early to Mercy Gilbert Hospital, they would send me to Chandler to have a VBAC. Neil didn't want to have a baby at home, so we thought it would be good if we just stayed close by the hospital.

We didn't make it anywhere. We spent the day cleaning the house and packing our hospital bags. We played and played. I gave Delaney a bath...........it was a pretty normal day, well, except that I was in labor!

The pressure waves came every 6 minutes for most of the day. I called the doctor to find out when I should go in or what the deal was. She said they really needed to be 5 minutes or less apart. I asked her what I could do to get things going. She said SEX! Ummmmmmmmmm, well, being that my children will read this someday, I'm not going to say anymore!

It didn't take long after I talked to the doctor that the pressure waves kicked in full gear. They were coming every 3-4 minutes and were not too much fun! I spent most of the time on my exercise ball. Delaney, of course, was right there next to me the entire time! She was such a good doula!

Towards the end, the pressure waves were kicking my butt and I was having a hard time focusing. It's pretty much impossible to focus on anything when you have a 19 month old running around. I told Neil to take Delaney and Tank for a walk or something because I needed some quiet time. The whole time they were gone, I just laid on the living room floor. I really started to think it might be to late to get to the hospital and we were having a baby! ha ha

As soon as they got home, we loaded the car and off to the hospital we went. Neil brought home a Nissas Xterra, which is the most horrible car in the whole entire world. There is absolutely no suspension and you feel every single bump times a million. If Ninja wasn't on it's way out, the ride there surly was shaking it out of me!

Once at the hospital, we were in triage for a VERY long time. They knew from my records that I had a previous C section so the nurse told me that I was going to be taken right to the c-section operation room. Ummmmmmmmmmmm, no I'm not. I'm having a VBAC. She was not happy with my answer so I told her to call my doc. We had to wait for the doctor to show up, which took a long time. I was just laying there having the fantastic back labor I am blessed with, waiting and waiting. She did check me, and I was already dilated to a six though!!!!!!

Grammy and Auntie J showed up to the hospital about 30 minutes after we got there. It was perfect timing. Delaney was so excited to see them and I was glad they were there! They both took Delaney home to put her to bed (I was STILL in triage). Auntie J came back to the hospital once DJ was sleeping.

My doctor showed up and said that she could not force me to have a c-section. I said great, I do not want to have one. She said ok and that was that. I had to sign a few papers and then was taken to my room. I should have known at that point that I should have taken the nurse up on her offer of taking me straight to the operation room. The doctor on call was Dr. Belisle, the same dr. who delivered Delaney. Then, the labor and delivery room I was taken too, was the same on I was in with Delaney! Talk about deja vu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because I was going for a vbac, I was considered "high risk" so I had to be hooked up to the monitors the entire time. This made labor so much fun ha ha. At home, I was able to get through the pressure waves by kneeling on my hands and knees, being suck on my back was the last place I wanted to be.

The doctor broke my water and so much came gushing out, it practically knocked her off the bed. She said "I should have known since you had triple the amount in there!". I hadn't moved past a 6 and she says it was because of all the water. I just wasn't going to dilate anymore because of the pressure. Once my water was broke, I started getting on my way pretty darn quick! I think we were pushing within 2 hours!!!!!!!!!!

While laboring, I got to have Deja Vu again when like 8 nurses came running into the room because they lost the babies heart rate. It's so scary w hen that hapens. THey start flipping me around and having me move weird directions to try and get the heart rate back. They were able to get it, but just like it's sister, Ninja was not liking this birthing time.

I pushed and pushed and pushed and pushed and pushed and pushed and pushed and pushed some more. Then the Deja Vu kicked in again. Ninja's heart rate kept dropping and taking to long to come back up. Dr. Belisile finally told me that we still had a lot of pushing to do and she didn't think baby was going to make it much longer. Awesome....................all this work once again to end up with a surgery!!!!!!!!!

Auntie J was pretty sad. This was her second try to be in the room and see a Baby Petrie be born, and it was the second time instead that she got to see me being wheeled away. Sorry Auntie J! It's probably really gross to see anyway ha ha

It was a little more calm going to the operation room this time. It was still an emergency c section, but I was more aware of things. In fact, I can tell you that Michael Jackson was playin on the radio when Ninja was being cut out of me!

Neil was more brave around this time too. As they were getting ready to pull Ninja out, they told Neil to stand up. He got to see them pull Ninja out. He also was the one who got to say "it's a GIRL"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I responded with "what", "Its a girl" he said, "it's a what?" I said, "a girl" he said, I then asked him 2 times if he was sure. Finally the anesthesiologist said "I second it, it is a girl" ha ha

Oh my gosh........I have TWO girls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are so excited. Well, I'm super excited and Neil is just scared ha ha

"Ninja' was born 5/1/10 at 2308 she weighed in at a whooping 8lbs and was 21 1/4 inches long! I knew she was a Ninja before I saw those super long legs!!!!!!

Her name is Kaylin Leslee Petrie. We aren't totally sure how we are going to spell "kaylin" so we haven't released it out to everyone yet. Her middle name is Leslee just like her mama's, but spell differently so it has "lee" like her grandma Jacquie and great grandma ginger. She is BEAUTIFUL and looks EXACTLY like her big sister DJ!
